Advantages of Chain Link Fencing

Mar. 22, 2021

Looking around, you may find that chain link fencing is the most common type of fencing. For good reason, it is the obvious choice for many people due to its simplicity and affordability.

For us, chain link fencing is one of our three preferred options, the other two being vinyl and wrought iron. Vinyl is great for privacy, while wrought iron is great for security. However, neither of them can be as affordable as chain link fencing, while still offering excellent strength and durability. Therefore, for most homes, chain link fencing is probably the best option.

Providing security

The main reason families choose to install any form of fencing in their homes is for security. Often it is not to stop people entering, but to stop people leaving. If you have young children or pets, you will understand.

They like to play outside in the backyard and you want them to learn to enjoy their freedom alone and work out their problems, but you are concerned about their safety. So you think it's a smart idea to install a fence around your backyard to provide a safe space for them to play, and you're right.

However, if security is your main concern, you may not need a wire fence (through which smaller animals can pass) or a vinyl fence that is too big and expensive. the Chainlink fence is a good middle ground that is cheap and simple, but provides a substantial barrier to exit.

Affordable

When it comes to chain fence price, Chainlink fencing is very affordable, especially when you compare it to the cost of other types of fencing. Rather than using a large amount of material, chain link fencing uses thin wires that cross over each other to form a strong unit without too much metal.

By reducing the cost of materials, we can sell more affordable fencing so that you can install a fence for much less than you might think. Vinyl, wood and wrought iron are more expensive, which is another issue in chain link fencing.

Chain Link Fencing

Quick and easy installation

You may be wondering why the speed and ease of installing a fence is so important - after all, you're not the one doing it. Well, we have to charge for our time and factor it into the cost of our fencing.

A chain link fence can be installed much faster than a wrought iron fence or even a vinyl fence, which means we can charge less for labour, thus reducing costs for you. Plus, we spend less time in your backyard, so you and your family can enjoy it.

If you need to replace your fence after decades, you'll also be pleased to know that it's quick and easy, often taking just a few minutes to replace individual chain links.

Low maintenance

A traditional fence made of wood requires a lot of maintenance because it is a natural material that is particularly weather resistant. In heavy rain or snow, the wood will eventually rot, the paint will peel and annual maintenance will be required.

Chain link fencing is made from metal, but more importantly, it is covered with powder to keep water out, thus preventing rusting. This barrier means that chain link fencing acts more like a man-made material than a natural metal and requires little maintenance of any kind.

Plus, because the fence is chain link, rather than solid vinyl or wood, you don't need to worry about snow accumulation. chainlink is virtually maintenance free, and if not, simply needs to be coated with a protective coating.

Lasts for years

Chainlink will last for years because it is strong and durable and resistant to damage and harsh weather conditions. While natural fences made from wood or bamboo will deteriorate with age, a metal fence protected with a powder or paint layer should last as long as it does now.

Considering the long life of a chain link fence, the annual cost will be significantly lower, making it a more affordable investment for your house.
